Come together for great CPD!

Our programme of world-class CPD embodies all that is small animal veterinary medicine. With 33 different topics, intertwined with our short format lectures, debates, interactive sessions, and Day in the Life of Dramas — back by popular demand! — you can't help but be inspired.

Never miss out! With so much scientific content to choose from it can be hard to pick a session without the worry of missing out on another great topic. That's why we will be recording our main live lectures for you to enjoy from the comfort of home or the practice after the main event has ended. A full 3-day ticket holder will have full access to all recordings, and for day tickets you can catch up on the sessions that were running on that day!

...Learning Styles

Everybody learns differently and we all need a bit of variation in the day to keep us alert and learning at our best. That's why the scientific programme is made up of different learning styles

Lectures | The concept is simple: two speakers, two short presentations on a specific aspect or perspective on a topic, followed by a Q&A session!

Interactive | Your opportunity to engage and vote on cases, images, results and personal experiences. These can be excellent opportunities to apply knowledge learnt elsewhere in the day in a practical way.

Discussion | One of our novel areas! Using a debate/discussion forum to explore different view points on ethical challenges we face as vets.

Day in the Life of | In the “real world” of veterinary medicine things don’t happen like a lecture! There are so many other influences over the outcome of cases and decision making. Through a combination of live acting, clinical CPD, paraprofessional skills and interactive discussions these sessions will give you the opportunity to explore how to deal with real-life every day events to support yourself and your team.

Programme FAQs

To access the main scientific programme you will need a delegate lecture pass. For 2023, we have day tickets as well as full 3-day ticket options.

Day ticket holders can only attend the lectures on the day of the ticket. Exhibition Ticket holders are not able to attend the main programme, however there are a number of free CPD sessions in the Exhibition Theatre, Wellbeing Zone and Practical Village that are open to all!

With 22 modules, there are over 132 hours of available CPD at BSAVA Congress 2023!

Each lecture and practical workshop equals: 20-30 minutes = 0.5 CPD Point or 40-60 minutes = 1 CPD Point.

Available by attending sessions within the main programme, practical workshops, Abstracts and the Exhibition Theatre, you can collect a total of 6 hours of CPD per day.

Additional CPD can be obtained each day by attending our practical drop in sessions or the lectures taking place in the exhibition theatre.

Keep an eye on your inbox after the event as we will be sending all delegates a self-completing CPD certificate by email, for you to record your attendance.

The programme and the exhibition will take place under one roof, at Manchester Central!

The main programme is delivered in the following rooms within Manchester Central.

  • Central 5,6,7
  • Charter 1
  • Chart 2&3
  • Cobden 3&4
  • Exchange 8,9,10
  • Exchange Auditorium
  • Exchange Hall

The Exhibition and Exhibitor CPD (Exhibition Theatre) will take place in Central Hall.

CLUBvet is taking place at Revolutions Deansgate on the Friday evening.

During the breaks, all attendees are welcome to enjoy complimentary refreshments and lunch, served at the catering points located in Central Hall.

A floorplan of the venue is included in the event Guide, available in your delegate bag!

Sessions will be Open to All in 2023!

The scientific programme offers a number of sessions that are aimed at the Veterinary Nurse!

However, you will see that we no longer divide the programme by "vet", "nurse" or "practice manager" streams. This is because we want our content to be available to everyone in the practice.

Some of the module titles directly refer to the RVN's role, and we will be adding lecture summaries to the programme very soon, so you can see if the content that will be delivered is suitable for you.

On-demand content will be available via the BSAVA Library after the live event has ended. Instructions on how to access the content will be sent out by the team when the content is ready to view!
