Animal Cancer TrustACT serves the needs of owners seeking information about cancer diagnosis and treatment in pet animals.
This is important to the world right now because there are currently few good sources of information for pet owner owners and vets worldwide. This need is growing as more people own older pets that are being affected by cancer more frequently. There are also a lot of new developments in cancer diagnosis and treatment and it is difficult for both owners and vets to access current information that will help in decision making.
The ACT attempts to address the needs of the pet-owning public and veterinary surgeons by providing information – via the website, social media, e-mail, telephone and post – and responding to your messages as promptly as we can.

Association of Charity VetsSince the millennium, a consensus has been building amongst a number of vets working in the major animal welfare charities and in some universities that it would be desirable to form an Association of Charity Vets (ACV). In 2010, an ad hoc committee was formed and in the ensuing years the ACV was born! The ACV is affiliated with BSAVA and has a volunteer committee of 11 people.
The animal charity sector in the UK is large and many veterinary professionals in the UK apply the principles of shelter medicine their daily work. This type of work has its own contexts and challenges, so the ACV aims to provide a voice and a support network for veterinary professionals working this area. This includes those working for a charity, those in private practice providing services or advice for a charity, those dealing with cases where the funding does not come entirely from the owner, and those carrying out research into issues faced by the sector. It also includes those veterinary professionals working with clients with limited resources, and need to apply principles of pragmatic care.
With our collective power, we can work together to generate and implement evidence-based (shelter) medicine, share information and skills, encourage and facilitate Continuing Professional Development, encourage a critical, pragmatic and ethical approach to decision making, lobby decision makers, and represent the views of colleagues working in this sector to the wider veterinary profession, government and public. Ultimately, it is hoped that the ACV will be a driving force in shelter and charity practice becoming recognised as a distinct speciality in the UK.

Burgess Pet CareBurgess is one of the UK’s leading animal food manufacturers, catering for the country’s most popular animals including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, hamsters, gerbils, rats and ferrets.
Here at Burgess Pet Care we are dedicated to improving the health and welfare of animals through research and education.
We invest in activities such as Rabbit Awareness Week to promote rabbit welfare and educational webinars to enable vets to keep up to date with the latest developments in small animal care.
This dedication led Burgess Pet Care to work with the University of Edinburgh on a ground breaking study which highlighted the risks to rabbits’ health associated with muesli style diets and selective feeding.
We are dedicated to small animal nutrition development but also, cats and dogs. Our Burgess Sensitive dog food is formulated with all the essential nutrients they need without many of the the ingredients that have been known to upset our dog’s stomach, it’s designed to keep your pet healthy on the inside and out.

Worldwide Veterinary Service/ Mission RabiesRight now, thousands of animals are suffering silently with no chance of ever receiving veterinary care. Like you, we don't think this is fair.
Worldwide Veterinary Service provides free expert care to animals in need all over the world. We do this by sending vets where they are needed most, training them to increase the standard of care globally and by shipping urgent aid supplies worldwide, every week of the year.
Since 2013, Mission Rabies, a UK based veterinary charity has worked in rabies hotspots, across Africa and Asia, to combat the disease directly at its source. With 99% of rabies cases being caused by an infected dog bite, the organisation follow WHO guidelines to deliver mass canine vaccination programmes; building herd immunity in any given canine population – stopping the disease in its tracks.
