Elke Van der Vekens graduated as veterinarian from Ghent University, Belgium in 2005. After completing her residency at the Department of Veterinary Medical Imaging of the same institution and becoming a European Veterinary specialist in Diagnostic imaging in 2012, she stayed on as senior radiologist at the veterinary university clinic. In 2019, Elke successfully defended her PhD titled “The canine and equine stifle joint: New insights in ultrasonography and computed tomography”. In the same year, she moved with her family to Switzerland, where she works as senior radiologist and member of the scientific staff at the Division of Clinical Radiology, Vetsuisse Faculty of Bern University. Elke has a special interest in all musculoskeletal imaging of both large and small animals.
