Alix qualified from the University of Glasgow in 2002 and then spent two years in small animal practice in south Wales. After finishing a rotating internship at the Animal Health Trust in Newmarket she returned to the Vet School in Glasgow to do a residency in Internal Medicine. She obtained her RCVS Certificate in Small Animal Medicine in 2007 and her European Diploma in Veterinary Internal Medicine in 2011. She also has a Masters in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Glasgow. Alix has recently left the University of Glasgow Small Animal Hospital where she was an internal medicine clinician/teacher for 7 years and is now working as a locum around the UK. She has a particular interest in nephrology and urology and is a member of the board of the European Society of Nephrology and Urology.
