Originally trained as a polymer chemist Clare moved to a career in sustainability nine years ago when she was employed to make Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust greener. In that time she has overseen a reduction in carbon emissions from buildings and anaesthesia, increased recycling and reduced single use plastics.
Clare is passionate about the links between the natural world, food and health, and anything relating to sustainable healthcare, although her background in polymer chemistry means that the impact of plastics on the environment is of particular interest. In 2018 she had an article published in British Wildlife Magazine ‘Corporate social responsibility: Do companies care about biodiversity?’
Clare is a Chartered Environmentalist and Member of IEMA in additional to being a Chartered Chemist.
