Present an abstract at Congress 2020BSAVA Congress is built on a foundation of community and learning. An integral part of the 4-day event is the diverse programme of clinical abstracts where researchers alongside vets, VN’s and practice staff share the latest research, unusual case reports and novel procedures.
The Clinical abstract can be on any veterinary subject, such as announcing the preliminary results of a new study, describing interesting cases or discussing new techniques - submissions from those in general practice are especially encouraged.
Clinical Abstracts are part of an ever-expanding programme of CPD, showcasing concepts and the latest thinking from around the globe and across the veterinary spectrum. At Congress 2019, 161 abstracts were presented under a wide range of disciplines.
Your guide to applying this year in 5 simple steps
Clinical Abstract applications will open between 16 September and 21 October 2019. Read the guidelines below and prepare to inspire the profession with your interesting cases, research or new techniques at BSAVA Congress 2020.
Prepare a 250 word abstract using the following separate headings:
■ A brief (2 sentence) statement; explain the impact of the work on small animal primary care or referral clinical practice. Only include standard abbreviations or acronyms.
Submissions are now open - send us your abstract by the closing deadline of 21 October 2019. During the submission process you will have the option of selecting your preference of poster or oral presentation.
Each abstract will be peer reviewed by a panel of experts. Authors of the selected clinical abstracts will be notified early 2020 and invited to present their work in person at Congress 2020 as either a 15-minute talk or a poster, including a short Q&A session. Each successful submission is granted complimentary full Congress registration if you're a BSAVA member, or for the day of presentation as a non-member.
Successful submissions will be included in the 2020 programme with the opportunity of showcasing and discussing your work with the global veterinary profession at Congress from 2–5 April. Abstracts will also be published as a supplement to JSAP.
